The Diana Adu
Child Foundation

Long distance child sponsorship for education, health and nutrition of needy children in Ghana.

“And when she had opened [it], she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, this [is one] of the Hebrews’ children. And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give [thee] thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.” Ex 2:6-9

“And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead (promote life), cast out devils (poverty): freely ye have received, freely give.” Mt.10:7,8

“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold (financial support), and frankincense (spiritual support), and myrrh (physical or emotional support).” Mt 2:11

About

The Diana Adu Child Foundation is a Christian humanitarian international organization focused on the mandate of the gospel for the protection of infants’ rights. From June 2007 it operate in Ghana to grant every child the fundamental right of education. Today the friends of the Diana Adu Child Foundation daily fight to pull out the children from the streets and disastrous homes, and to give them education and food, but most importantly to share the love of Christ with them.

The foundation was birthed by Rev. Diana Adu Child sponsorship is divine and a mandate for the church. Child sponsorship was ordained by God (Pr.29:13; Mt 2:11). Child sponsorship goes beyond the political, racial, denominational, religious, social boundaries. The Spirit of God stirred a non-believer, an Egyptian idol worshipper to adopt the child of a believing Yahweh worshipper’s child who in turn gave her into the care of a carer (his mother) to "take the child, and nurse him for wages. As we can also see, child sponsorship begun from Africa by an African who sponsored for a Hebrew child. Why don’t we take it back to that land?

Poverty according to Scripture is a curse whose smell is killing many children, you can change that smell into a sweet fragrance of new life to any of these children through our child sponsorship program.

The Diana Adu Child Foundation

(Effia-Kuma Missions)

It all began in January 2006, when Rev. Diana Adu, was hosted at the Christian Faith Church, Effia-kuma, Ghana where she was guest for the launch of her Gospel CD. In a prayer to God after the CD launch, Apostle Diana prayed to God for what help she could offer to the local church as a sign of her gratitude. She then said she saw in a vision, three malnourished children and that she also heard the word, adoption.

Without any biblical knowledge or experience on the ministry of charity and without any resources she in obedience, enquired from her mother who was the then Head-mistress of the Christian Faith Preparatory School, if there was any child at the school, who needed, sponsorship. Her mother then confirmed that there was one very brilliant child who had stayed home for a long time because his parent was not working and couldn't afford for their child’s education. Her mother also suggested that there were other children who were at home or were obliged to stay away from school to assist their parents at the market, or as hawkers.

Further arrangements were made with the school through her mother and after her return to Italy, Rev. Diana Adu informed her Italian bible class student who each joyfully accepted to sponsor a child at the Christian Faith Preparatory School. The Diana Adu Child Foundation thus was birthed upon the obedience of 6 people.

Most child sponsorship cost from 235 to 390 euros. We are asking you for only 20 pounds per month, that's 240 pounds per year for the education of a child.

The Organization and Activities

The organization and activities of the care of the children are directed by the school administration and church board of the Christian Faith Preparatory and by my mother who is carer representative of the Diana Adu Child Foundation. The church and school are legally known institutions

The Head Teacher

The school used to be headed by my mother Mrs. Florence Adu, lovely known as teacher until her retirement. She is a professional trained teacher who has headed many schools in Ghana and has over 60 years of abundant experience in the education of children. There could be no best gift from God to take care of children than her. She has also written several books in the Akan language which are being used in the Ghana Education System.

Site

The school is built on the premises of the land donated by Rev. Diana Adu’s father, The late Rev. P.Y.E. Adu., which is in Effia-Kuma, Takoradi, a twin city in the western Region of Ghana.

Description of the project

The Gospel Fragrance Foundation wants to be a little answer to some of the great questions and challenges facing the African continent today, and That's hunger and illiteracy. It has also been observed that even in the year 2000, there are still hundreds of children in the south of the world, without the possibility of education. These children must hawk goods as a means of sustaining their families and parents. Some also are forced to stay out of school and engage as house girls or boys because they have been orphaned and must live with a relative where food and clothing is offered to them in exchange for their service. Our project proposes a remedial of this situation, giving a future to these children by welcoming them at the school and offering them proper nutrition, health care and education.

The school

The school is an old church building, of Diana's father, which has been divided into a dining hall, kitchen, classrooms. It is a simple building of 250-meter square including a kitchen and the administrative offices.

It is a day nursery and elementary school which offers education to the children

There are presently 100 children from the ages between 3 to 10 years.  Most of these children resides, around the site of the school building. As such the first occasion which brings the children to the school is not for education, but they come in search of food. Therefore, the teachers do the best they can to offer these orphans and abandoned children, the best support in life as answer to their psychological, nutritional, scholastic, and spiritual needs.

As the wise men who visited the baby Jesus in the stall went with their gold (symbolic of their money), Frankincense (symbolic of fresh odour to stop the bad odour of the stall) and their myrrh (which is symbolic if their love) so you also can follow their example by bringing a fresh fragrance to the stall of these children.

Children like you

Maybe you do not know, but millions of children in the world live in the orphanage: a place where they eat, sleep and are cured but have no mother or a father. The days are all the same. No one gives them the night kiss; not even a hug. The neglect of the children of the Diana Adu Child Foundation goes beyond a night kiss or a family because most of these children may have either a parent or relative. What they lack is care. Their dream is not just to have a family but someone who will love and care for them. Be you that fragrance of life to a child!

"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?” 2Cor 2:15,16

Yours in His Master's Service

Lady Apostle Diana Adu
